Brian Maule at Chardon d’Or, Glasgow City Centre

We haven’t been dining out quite as much as we used to (we’re saving up for something very, very special in just three months time!) but we treated ourselves recently to dinner at Brian Maule. It had been on our “must try” list for some time and celebrating our birthdays seemed like the perfect excuse. 

We initially had booked dinner at Gamba through, but due to a processing error between 5pm and Gamba, they were actually booked out for dinner that night. The gentleman from Gamba phoned within about 30 minutes of my booking online to explain the problem and that they had no tables available at all. His promptness and politeness was very much appreciated and we are looking forward to going there in the future! That led us to push the boat out a bit more, and book at Brian Maule. 

The restaurant is beautiful and we were warmly greeted at the door.

Unfortunately I can’t remember what this dish actually was but it was really lovely, and a treat I was definitely not expecting when dining on a pre-theatre menu!
We went for a dessert from the a la carte menu as we both felt like chocolate. This was a dessert to fight over, that’s for sure! It was heavenly.
The whole meal at Brian Maule was really lovely and, although at times you felt that your meals were arriving in very quick succession, the pre-theatre menu is a great, affordable way to dine at one of Glasgow’s most raved about restaurants.
